Packaged Boiler Project | Project profile

About the client

Middough’s client is a major producer of light crude oil in the U.S Midwest.

Scope of project

The client faced an environmental consent decree to reduce the plant wide NOx emissions by de-commissioning an existing boiler and replacing the capacity with a new boiler with low NOx burner and Flue Gas Recirculation (FGR.)

Services provided by Middough

Middough provided estimating, engineering and design services.

Results delivered to client

Although a typical time frame for a project of this type would be 15-18 months from conceptual engineering (FEL-1) through commissioning/steam-to-plant, the client required this boiler to be on-line in seven months. Middough assembled an experienced team to partner with this long term client from conceptual engineering and estimating through detailed engineering, field administration and commissioning. This team designed, installed and commissioned the new boiler within the seven month timeline and produced steam to the plant two weeks ahead of schedule.
