Basic chemicals are foundational commodities essential to the chemical and allied industries. Dyes, pigments, petrochemicals, and inorganics are typically produced in continuous processes, with high throughputs to achieve economies of scale. 

Middough understands the importance of integrating new projects into existing facilities with a minimum of downtime.

Industrial Gases

Middough has extensive experience in the industrial gas industry. We specialize in plant design and preparing detailed design engineering packages for Cryogenic air separation units (ASUs) that provide nitrogen (LIN & GAN), oxygen (LOX & GOX) and co-produce argon (LAR); Carbon Dioxide plants, cylinder filling, liquefaction, and air distillation systems for the rare gases, neon; krypton; and xenon. 

We are very familiar with High Purity systems used for semiconductor device fabrication. We specialize in cryogenic system design, including vacuum jacketed (VJ) piping, O2 piping design for velocity and cleaning, cold box layout and foundation design, cooling towers and water distribution, truck filling stations, flat bottom tanks (FBT), and air and water vaporization systems.

Our industrial gas team works with our clients on all aspects of the plant design, including permitting for zoning, construction, tall structures (FAA), and storm water (SWPP). UG/AG power distributions, Utility tie-ins, back-up system, instrumentation, and control and automation systems. We support construction planning for cold box preparation; supply of construction power, crane access, lift planning, and construction scheduling. We provide construction management, and support commissioning and start-up.
